Nutri & Me is a personalized nutrition platform leveraging biometric data from Electronic Health Records (EHR) to deliver science-backed dietary recommendations and custom supplements.

From Concept to Competition: Ideating Nutri & Me

Nutri & Me was conceived at Stanford HealthHacks as a groundbreaking solution to transform nutrition advice using biometric data from Electronic Health Records (EHR). Designed to empower users with science-backed recommendations, the concept won 1st place. Our initial focus was on university students, enabling them to make informed dietary choices by leveraging AI to analyze health conditions and deficiencies while helping universities optimize operations.

Key Achievement: Winning 1st place at Stanford HealthHacks validated the innovative approach and its potential to create real-world impact.

Data-Driven Insights for Real-World Solutions

To refine the concept, we conducted extensive market research, interviewing Stanford chefs, dining hall staff, and students across 4 dining halls. These insights informed the app’s AI, enabling it to rank meal options by compatibility with specific health goals like managing chronic conditions or addressing deficiencies.

Our hackathon beta demonstrated the real-world potential of Nutri & Me. Students could access tailored dining recommendations, and universities gained insights to optimize operations and reduce costs. This phase emphasized bridging health data with practical solutions, empowering both users and institutions.

Key Impact: Validated user needs through qualitative research and built a functional beta that showcased the concept’s feasibility.

Evolving into a Consumer-Centric Model

Through the UCSD StartR incubator, we reimagined Nutri & Me as a consumer-focused product offering personalized supplements through a subscription service. Unlike survey-based competitors, Nutri & Me leveraged health data to deliver supplements tailored to individual needs, creating a science-driven edge in the personalized nutrition market.

To validate this pivot, we conducted 30+ interviews with first adopters, gathering insights on market demand, pricing preferences, and potential adoption challenges. This feedback shaped our vision for a scalable, service-based model that prioritized scientific accuracy and user convenience.

Key Evolution: Transitioned from a university-centric app to a scalable consumer product strategy, differentiating with science-backed personalization.

Strategic Roadmap for Market Success

To position Nutri & Me for long-term success, I conducted a comprehensive market analysis, segmenting the peripheral nutrition and supplements market into subcategories. I also performed a competitor analysis, identifying key differentiators and potential strategic partnerships.

By evaluating pricing models, sales strategies, and distribution channels, I developed a roadmap to optimize market positioning. The emphasis on leveraging EHR-driven personalization and differentiating from survey-based competitors ensured Nutri & Me could capture market interest and sustain a competitive edge.
